Open Meditation and Mindful Mornings

All our sessions are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners. 

Open Meditation in Ramsgate

Come and sit with us any Wednesday evening at our weekly Open Meditation sessions

At Langmead Guesthouse, Park Road, Ramsgate, CT11 7QH (from October 2024)
​(previously at Archive in Ramsgate Harbour and Eats'n'Beats in King Street)
every Wednesday
6pm - 6:45pm. 
All Welcome.

Mindful Mornings at Bleak House, Broadstairs

Join us any Thursday morning, 10am-11am at Bleak House in Broadstairs
Mindful Mornings at Bleak House include a relaxing guided body scan meditation as well as a silent meditation, short poem and discussion. Most attendees also go for a coffee in the lovely cafe at Bleak HOuse after the session. 

We ask for a £5 donation for these sessions
If you can't afford that, you're still welcome. ​No questions asked. 


Extra - and earlier - Mindful Mornings during Broadstairs Folk Week

There will be additional, earlier, Mindful Morning sessions in August during Broadstairs Folk Week on Monday 10th and Wednesday 12th, as well as our usual Thursday, on 13th August. All sessions that week will start at the earlier time of 9am. 

​A ticket link for these extra sessions will be added here once the events are on the Folk Week website. Early booking is recommended. 


​Poetry Breakfasts take place every morning at the same venue from 10am and are free.  Other wellbeing related events will also be taking place. Details tba. ​

Open Meditation Thanet meets at 6pm on Wednesday evenings in Ramsgate and at 10am on Thursday mornings in Broadstairs, to share in the experience of silent meditation - and sometimes  guided relaxation. 

Open Meditation is suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators. If you have a meditation technique that works for you, you can practice it in our group. If you need a little guidance, the introduction at the start of each session will tell you all you need to know to participate fully in the session. You are invited for herbal tea and a group chat at the end.

We are always glad to welcome new people.  Please feel free to come along or get in touch if you have any questions you'd like to ask in advance.

MIndful Thanet has been established in Thanet since 2013 and our Wednesday evenings loosely follow the format of the Open Meditation Camden group which Lorraine used to help to run in London, before her transformative move to the East Kent coast in 2011.

Ramsgate station is a short walk away
​Ramsgate Harbour is approximately ten minutes walk away. 

How to find Bleak House in Broadstairs

Bleak House is a much loved landmark building in Broadstairs, overlooking Viking Bay, recently refurbished with much love and a lot of flair by the new resident owners Liz and Mike. Enter via the Havisham and Cratchit Cafe at the rear/ side entrance on Church Road.
